What is TrialPay and How Does It Work?
TrialPay is the first payment method that actually increases a customer's willingness to pay. If a customer won't purchase your product outright, he may be a better customer for another brand. TrialPay lets you leverage the brand recognition of big advertisers (Blockbuster, FTD.com, Gap and The Wall Street Journal, just to name a few) to convert these customers. By matching your customers with their preferred brands, TrialPay turns abandoned carts into conversions.
When a customer completes one advertiser offer (sends flowers from FTD, for instance), you get paid a CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) from the advertiser worth the full value of your product — and you can then give away your product for "free" to the customer. With TrialPay everyone wins: customers get a free product, advertisers acquire new customers, and merchants earn significant revenue from "lost" customers.
What is the benefit to my company?
TrialPay increases conversion rates and earns significant additional revenue from marketing initiatives you've already developed. Kagi will add TrialPay as a payment method across all online stores.
How much do I get paid?
TrialPay guarantees that you will receive at least the minimum you require for each transaction and often much more. For example, if the price of your product is $35, you will earn at least $35 for every completed transaction. However, frequently the customer chooses an advertiser offer with a payout much larger than the $35 you require. In these cases you could make $40, $50 or even $80 for a transaction where you would normally receive just $35 through Visa, PayPal or other common payment forms.
In addition, Kagi waives all service and payment processing fees on transactions paid through TrialPay.
When does TrialPay appear in my store?
In its initial release at Kagi, TrialPay will appear on the shopping cart page as an available payment method when:
- The customer appears to be in the United States.
- The transaction total is less than $50.
We may continue to expand this payment method to higher dollar values and international markets in the future.
If TrialPay still doesn't appear as a payment method and you'd like to add it, please contact accountmanagement@kagi.com. We may need to work with you to upgrade your store.
What if I don't want TrialPay to appear on my store?
The TrialPay payment option is in a <table> with class="kagi_trialpay". If you add the following code to your stylesheet, TrialPay will disappear from any modern browser.
table.kagi_trialpay { display:none; }
